The best date night in Boise, however you want to spend it

Date night in Boise doesn't have to mean the same reservation you've made a dozen times before. Whether you're celebrating something, trying to impress someone new, or just want an excuse to get out of sweatpants, here's where locals actually go when they want the night to feel like an event, dinner, a view, and something sweet to close it out.

For a proper sit-down dinner date night in Boise

Percy

From The Wylder Hospitality Group, Percy does polished, wood-grilled American food in downtown Boise, elevated but never precious. The vegetables alone are worth the reservation, and the marble-topped bar is a good spot to start the night with a cocktail before you're seated.

Red Bench Pizza

Wood-fired, Neapolitan-style pizza on the Boise Bench, made from scratch down to the sauces and dressings. It's also known as one of the most genuinely welcoming spots in the city, an established transgender-safe space that keeps its neighborhood-joint feel no matter who walks in. Good for a first date or a hundredth one.

Saltbrush

Farm-to-table, exclusively locally sourced, and the first restaurant in Boise to cure its own meats in-house. The room itself does a lot of the talking, chandeliers, a Spanish wood-fired oven, and a hint of woodsmoke in the air, elegant without ever feeling stiff.

Chandlers Prime Steaks + Fine Seafood

Chandlers has built its reputation on sourcing, not just steak. Through their Ranch to Table partnership with True West Beef, they're the only restaurant in the region offering this specific USDA Prime program, fully traceable from ranch to plate. And Prime isn't even their top tier, it's where the menu starts before climbing into Wagyu. Their seafood program runs the same way, jet-fresh, with the same commitment to transparency. Add live jazz every night and a wine list with over 700 selections, and you've got the kind of night that doesn't need any help feeling like an occasion.

Date night with a view

Luna Bar at Barbacoa

Open seasonally, Friday through Sunday, this rooftop spot pairs a Latin-inspired menu with a view worth showing up early for.

Hap hap lounge

Perched above Treefort Music Hall, this one's less about the skyline and more about the whole scene, music-inspired cocktails, a disco ball table, retro furniture, and a rooftop patio that fills up fast on weekends. Good for the date that wants energy along with the view.

End the evening

Soft Landing

Soft serve made with A2 milk and toppings they make in-house, right down to the sauces. It's a small, easygoing shop, the kind of place built for exactly this, grabbing a cone and taking the long way back to the car.

The Fork

Skip straight to the butter cake. It's been Fork's signature dessert for years, warm, topped with local Cloverleaf vanilla ice cream and an Oregon berry coulis. Some dates don't need an appetizer, they need dessert first.
